CorkscrewDescription

This is a Weir Concertina Corkscrew No. 12804 patented in England on 25 Sept 1884.  It is nickel plated (95%) and was purchased privately in Oct 1999.  It is marked 'Weir's Patent 12804. 25 Septr 1884' 'J.Heeley & Sons.Makers' 'Patent'..on both sides.

Value: £95

A Thomason Corkscrew in quite excellent condition.  It has Royal Coat of Arms shield on the closed barrel ( Lion & Unicorn), & is inscribed with "Ne Plus Ultra".  Sir Edward Thomason was granted this patent (no. 2617) in England in 1802.  The bone handle is superb and the patina is beautiful; the upper thread is even blued steel which signifies a top quality piece.  Ah yes, but £385 I hear you cry.  Mark my words, it will be worth £1,000 in 10 years time.

Value: £380

A good example of a French Le Presto single lever corkscrew in full working order.  Some slight (v) plating loss but it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the piece - excellent patina.  Marked on link bar "Le Presto" and "Paris JP Depose". Length 6 1/2".

Value: £250

A three-finger steel Wolverson corkscrew with a leather cover to protect the fingers; unusually, the leather is still in excellent condition.  The corkscrew is unmarked but Edwin Wolverson's English registered design (no. 297,6350 is dated 14 January 1876.  Full-length triangular helix.  Length 4".

Value: £50

Ladies Legs marked 'Brighton Cutlery Works Germany'.  The legs are in good condition and the nickel plating shows good quality definition / detail.  Half colour skin tone. 5 1/2" Toe-to-Toe

Value: £250

The more difficult to find Hollweg ~ one scallop & a square shank on the worm distinguish it from other examples.  It is marked on three links 'PATENT APPLIED FOR' 'MADE ABROAD' + 'PATENT ANGEMELDET'.  It is in very good condition, opens & close well and has a good full length worm. Lovely patina.

Value: £90
